NACWYCA Distributes Palliatives in Doma for Dangote

The Center for Women Youth & Community Action (NACWYCA) has been chosen by the Aliko Dangote Foundation amongst 12 other NGOs to carry out the distribution of Palliatives to vulnerable groups of people in the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State. The Palliative program which is being coordinated by the Nasarawa State Ministry of Humanitarian and NGO with NACWYCA as the organization responsible for Doma Local Government has further proven the Aliko Dangote Foundation as an agency which stands for the good of the people.

To commence the distribution, the NACWYCA engaged with key community and local leaders to ensure adequate distribution to actual vulnerable groups and protection for the staff of the Center. The Center also held a stakeholders meeting with the Doma Local Government Chairman, to inform him as the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government of the kind gesture of Aliko Dangote Foundation and to solicit support for security personnel during the distribution of the palliative in the 10 ward of the LGA. The Chairman appreciated the gesture and pledged his commitment to the success of the distribution and agreed to mobilize security personnel to support the distribution across the 10 wards.     

In addition to the 1,000 bags of Rice from Dangote Foundation, the Nasarawa State Government also supported it with the distribution with 200 bags of millet and 200 bags of maize.

In honour of Aliko Dangote’s birthday which was 10th April, 2024, the Centre for Women Youth and Community Action distributed materials to various vulnerable groups in Doma Local Government Area.

Speaking at the flag-off event, the Chairman of Doma Local Government, Arch. Sarki Ahmed Usman expressed gratitude to Aliko Dangote for his humanitarian and charity work across the country and indeed outside the country. He prayed for God to continue to strengthen and sustain him to be of good to the people of Doma and indeed the people of Nasarawa state. He called on the people to utilize whatever they will receive and pray for Dangote. He also thanked the state government for the support to his local government and called on the state government to learn from the NGO how to organize subsequent palliatives in view of the success and reach to the people.

  • 100 Bags of Rice
  • 40 Bags of Millet
  • 40 Bags of Maize
