Building Expertise for Impact: NACWYCA’s Weekly Capacity Development Program

The Centre for Women, Youth & Community Action (NACWYCA) has initiated a comprehensive capacity-building program to strengthen staff expertise and foster impactful service delivery. As part of this weekly initiative, department heads and project leads conduct insightful training sessions, presenting on specialized topics relevant to their fields of work. These sessions aim to deepen knowledge, enhance collaboration, and highlight the positive effects of NACWYCA’s initiatives on the communities served.

On Monday, October 28, 2024, the focus was on Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Miss Otunsha Aboki, NACWYCA’s GBV thematic lead, led the session with a powerful presentation on the critical importance of addressing GBV. She shared the achievements of her unit, emphasizing how, with the support of partners and donors, NACWYCA has reached hundreds of survivors, providing them with essential resources and support.

The session encouraged active engagement, with staff members contributing ideas and posing questions. Executive Director Dr. Aboki Nawani concluded the event by offering guidance on effective presentation techniques and underscoring the value of communication skills in advancing NACWYCA’s mission and sustaining relevance within the development sector.
