The Centre for Women, Youth and Community Action (NACWYCA) recently hosted representatives of Gesundes Afrika, Germany, in Lafia, Nasarawa State, as part of a funders’ visit to review the ongoing Food Security and Malaria Project being implemented by the Centre.
During the visit, NACWYCA was described as a pillar of effective programming and organizational reliability, a testament to its long-standing commitment to quality service delivery and accountability. The visiting delegation from Germany was led by the Project Director and Project Manager, who commended the Centre for its professionalism and strong implementation capacity.
The funders expressed appreciation to NACWYCA and ITN Nigeria for the warm reception and for fostering a productive partnership since the start of the project. They noted their satisfaction with the level of collaboration, coordination, and transparency demonstrated throughout the project lifecycle.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured several project sites across Nasarawa Eggon and Akwanga Local Government Areas, where they interacted with project teams and observed firsthand the impact of interventions focused on nutrition improvement and malaria prevention. The field visits provided an opportunity for the funders to assess progress, understand community-level challenges, and engage directly with beneficiaries.
The Food Security and Malaria Project is funded by Gesundes Afrika, Germany, and supported by ITN in Nigeria, with technical and operational backing from ITN staff at both the national headquarters and the Nasarawa State office. Their presence throughout the visit further strengthened coordination and demonstrated the shared commitment of all partners to the success of the project.
To mark the visit, a cocktail reception was held in honour of the guests. During the event, the Executive Director of NACWYCA expressed heartfelt gratitude to Gesundes Afrika and ITN for their continued support and trust in the Centre. She acknowledged the importance of sustained partnerships in delivering impactful community-based interventions and reaffirmed NACWYCA’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and measurable results.
The cocktail event brought together the funders, project partners, ITN staff, key state dignitaries, and members of NACWYCA’s team. It served not only as a moment of appreciation but also as an opportunity to strengthen relationships and reaffirm a shared vision of improving health, nutrition, and wellbeing in communities across Nasarawa State.
