The TB Northern Nexus Cluster, under the USAID/Palladium SCALE project, hosted its 2nd Cluster Coaching and Learning Event on August 12-13, 2024, at the Langa Women Development Initiative (LWDI) office in Bauchi, North East Nigeria. This event aimed to bolster the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the cluster by enhancing their skills in capturing results, deepening their advocacy roles, and fostering collaboration on critical issues such as GESI and conflict sensitivity. Participants engaged in strategy development, state updates, and interactive sessions focused on turning successes into actionable stories, ultimately contributing to more effective, accountable, and adaptive project implementation.
On the second day of the event, a pivotal session brought together public and private sector stakeholders, CSOs, community leaders, and the media to address the state of tuberculosis (TB) in Bauchi State. Moderated by the Executive Director of NACWYCA, Dr. Nawani Aboki, the discussion highlighted significant challenges, including inadequate TB awareness, limited political will, and gaps in comprehensive treatment regimes. Stakeholders committed to amplifying the fight against TB by pushing for greater attention and action from both the public and private sectors. The event saw robust participation, with 29 attendees at the learning event and 18 at the Cluster Coaching session, reflecting a strong commitment to tackling the TB crisis in the region.
